Common Problems and Fixes
Here are solutions to some common problems and issues:
Browser Problems
For security purposes, Cybersettle supports the following browsers only:
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher
- Netscape Navigator 7.0 or higher
- Firefox\Mozilla 1.0 or higher
- AOL 7.0
Our site may also work on some other modern standards compliant browsers (Opera, Safari, etc.) but they are not supported by Cybersettle.
If you do not have a supported browser, here is a list of sites where you may download one for free!
Javascript
For enhanced usability, the Cybersettle transaction site requires that you have Javascript client side scripting enabled on your browser.
To enable Javascript on your supported browser, please follow these instructions:
Internet Explorer 5.X
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
- Click Custom level button at bottom. The Security Settings dialog box will pop up.
- Under Scripting category enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
- Click OK twice to close out.
- Hit Refresh.
Internet Explorer 6.X
- Open Internet Explorer.
- Select Internet Options from the Tools menu.
- In Internet Options dialog box select the Security tab.
- Click Custom level button at bottom. The Security settings dialog box will pop up.
- Under Scripting category enable Active Scripting, Allow paste options via script and Scripting of Java applets
- Click OK twice to close out.
- Hit Refresh.
Netscape 7.X
- Open Netscape.
- Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Click the arrow next to Advanced.
- Click Scripts & Plugins.
- Check Navigator beneath "Enable Javascript for".
- Click OK.
- Click Reload.
Mozilla 1.X
- Open Mozilla.
- Select Preferences from the Edit menu.
- Click the arrow next to Advanced.
- Click Scripts & Plugins.
- Check Navigator beneath "Enable Javascript for".
- Click OK.
- Click Reload.
Cookies
Cybersettle requires that you have cookies enabled on your browser. To enable cookies, follow the instructions below for the browser version you are using.
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0+
- Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
- Click on the "Privacy" tab.
- Click the "Default" button (or manually slide the bar down to "Medium") under "Settings".
- Click "OK".
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.x
- Select "Internet Options" from the Tools menu.
- Click on the "Security" tab.
- Click the "Custom Level" button.
- Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
- Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer" to "Enable".
- Set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable".
- Click OK
Mozilla Firefox (1.0 final release and earlier)
- Go to the "Tools" menu.
- Select "Options".
- Select the "Privacy" icon in the left panel.
- Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies".
- Click "OK" to save changes.
Netscape 7.1/Mozilla 5.0
- Select "Preferences" from the Edit menu.
- Click on the arrow next to "Privacy & Security" in the scrolling window to expand.
- Under "Privacy & Security", select "Cookies."
- Select "Enable all cookies".
- Click "OK".
How to Clear Cookies
Sometimes a corrupt cookie can cause problems using Cybersettle. Here are some guides on how to clear cookies off your browser.
Internet Explorer 5.x and Up
- Click the Tools menu.
- Click Internet Options.
- Click the Delete Cookies button.
- Click the OK button.
Mozilla
- Choose Cookie Manager from the Tools menu.
- Choose Manage Stored Cookies.
- Remove any cookie from the list, or remove all cookies.
Mozilla Firefox
- Click on Tools, then Options
- Select the Privacy icon in the left-hand panel.
- Click on Cookies.
- Click on View Cookies.
- To remove a single cookie click on the entry in the list and click on the Remove Cookie button.
- To remove all cookies click on the Remove All Cookies button.
Netscape Navigator 7.x
- Choose Cookie Manager from the Tools menu.
- Choose Manage Stored Cookies.
- Remove any cookie from the list, or remove all cookies.
Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption
Cybersettle requires that your browser support at least 128-bit SSL encryption. While most modern browsers come installed with this, you may need to upgrade your existing browser or install a more current version.
To get a SSL compliant browser, please refer to our
browser section.
Login Problems
If you are unable to log because your password and username are not recognized, please contact our customer support department. They will be able to reset your password or provide you with a username.
If you get a message on login regarding your browser, please refer to the
browser help section.
Bugs and Glitches
If you experience a system bug or other glitch while using Cybersettle, we are sorry for the inconvenience! But don't worry, We are here to help you. Please contact our customer support department and they will attempt to resolve your issue as quickly as possible.
Please have your Cybersettle username and a Cybersettle Case ID # handy, if applicable. If you received a screen with an Error Code, please have that ready as well.
